Droidin v. 4.1.4 is out

We posted latest Droidin v. 4.1.4 update. This release is addressing various bugs and issues reported and identified since the previous release

Starting with 4.1.3 Droidin is now built in 3 sub-versions 05, 08 and 10 to bettor tailor to devices running various Android OS versions. So if you still have Eclair your version will show up as 41405, Froyo - 41410 and Gingerbread - 41410. Thanks to the multiple version support on Android market we also have older Droidin version 3.0.7 that supports even older devices (Donut) but is lacking contact sync and groups.

Droidin v. 3.5.0 – Address book contacts sync

Droidin v. 3.5.0 was just released to the Android market. This is a major upgrade that introduces full address book contact syncing. Now (optionally) you can import all your LInkedIn contacts into your address book and have seamless interoperability with Droidin. You will be able to call full profile and send direct messages to your contacts. Please note that this a first BETA quality release, please report any errors so we can fix those.
IMPORTANT: LinkedIn does not provide personal email addresses as part of profile (contact) information, however as you communicate with your contact any new information including email maybe automatically synced into address book contacts.

Droidin v. 3.0.5 – contact browsing

Next release of Droidin adds contact browsing. Now when you view your 1st level contact profile you can click on the number of contacts link to see their contacts displayed. Thing to remember is that person may disable contact browsing from the preferences in which case you will see a limited number of contacts or nothing at all.
Number of bugs was fixed including unintended “Welcome to Droidin” title change

Droidin v. 3.0.3 – new update types

Release 3.0.3 of Droidin is out and it adds new types of network updates. Now you can monitor company events: job posted, profile changes, people come and go. You can also see what your contacts “liked” and what they are commenting on.
This release also contains many bug fixes reported and discovered, thanks to our wonderful users for the indispensable feedback!

Droidin v. 2.5.5 – Interactivity just got whole lot better

Dear users. We are very excited to announce brand new Droidin 2.5.5 release. The most notable feature of this version is addition of “likes/comments” features. Now you can “like” any update that has like/comment link on the bottom. Or if you change your mind later you can “unlike” it too. You can leave your comments from the same screen and you can use “Refresh” button from the toolbar to pull in any new comments or see all the comments to the entry (by default we show last 10)

Another great feature is ability to “Send by” updates from the Android apps that support it.

Droidin 2.5.0 – UI redesigned

Many of our user noted that Droidin looks were subpar to its functionality. This is no longer a case thanks to the wizardry of Dion Van Rijswijk who revamped and redesigned Droidin graphical art.

The 2.5.0 update also bring further functionality improvements adding auto drafts and fixing reported issues

DroidIn – reality check

We got few feedback messages on DroidIn market listing complaining of DroidIn “eating battery” and being “resource hog” so today we run some testing. In 2.5 hours unplugged, running side-by-side with “big boys” – Twitter and Gmail, DroidIn is nowhere to be seen as far as resource consumption. In fact, DroidIn uses Android’s Alert Manager to wake up and do the refresh. That means we are not running any long term background processes and as soon as service is done updating the app will not consume battery power until next update. If you have a different experience and data/picture to prove it please please let us know

DroidIn v. 2.0.6 adds manual login

DroidIn v. 2.0.6 is out and it adds the alternative to the automatic login. Please note that mechanics are the same – in both instances OAuth mechanism is deployed with no email/pwd saved anywhere in the app. However, manual login exposes the actual LinkedIn OAuth login page within the app – basically you are entering your credentials into LinkedIn remote webpage which probably gives an additional piece of mind to security-obsessed.
The manual login screen is available as a link below automatic login form.

Auto-login

Click on it and (eventually) you will be presented with the manual login form. Please wait until LinkedIn page is loaded – it may take some time. Fill in the credentials and click submit. If you are successful – code will be generated and auto-filled into the “Accept code” form on the top. If it fails to autofill – just click on the box and type the code by hand. Click on “Thumb up” button and you are done.

If at any stage of login process you want to bail out – simply click “Cancel” button on the top, you will return to the auto-login

Other updates include bug fixes and we happy to report that bug that was showing NULL in the “Experience” screen was fixed – thank you to our users for reporting this one!
